Astrology with Marilyn

Welcome everyone to January 2009 – the doorway into a year of ‘altered realities’.

What does this mean for you? How will you enter this year of incredible opportunity and massive change?  How can you best take advantage of the ‘infinite possibilities’ presented?

We live in a uniquely opportunistic time – time to dig deep, look at our unconscious habits and patterns and where they’ve taken us.

So often we rely on ‘others’ to guide us and show us the way – trusted representatives, ‘experts’, ‘professionals’ etc.  But actually some things never really change and one of those things is ‘if you want to know something always ask the people on the ground’ – the ones directly involved in it – ‘the grass roots’.  We have a role to play; we need to be active in that. Not shirking our responsibility, being lazy and leaving the thinking and decision making to ‘those in charge’.  That time has come to an end – it was only superficially held in place anyway!

Many of us are intrigued by the complexity that makes up our own psyche and want to understand more about ourselves.

Numerology is a tool we can use to help find our way through life. It gives us insights into the jigsaw puzzle of our different selves, like a helpful road map, revealing more clearly our essential character and destiny.

We can add this this map to our navigation toolbox to help us work out answers to that complex and intriguing question, “Why am I here?”

The Greek mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras was one of the first scholars to explore the hidden meaning of numbers. The ancient Chaldeans, Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Hindus and Hebrews also developed their own systems of numerology.

    The Chiron Gift of Healing

    January 5, 2009 by admin · 1 Comment

A Native American prophecy states that when the planet of Healing is discovered in the sky, the ancient sacred warrior teachings will return to the Earth. This planet is Chiron.

Discovered in 1977, Chiron is re-awakening teachings that have their origins in antiquity. These origins pre-date recorded Western history and subsequently show up in the mythologies, philosophies, religions, arts and customs of virtually every culture, worldwide.

A new way of thinking and living has been emerging since the discovery of Chiron.  In essence, it shows us that healing is intrinsic to our individual and collective evolution of consciousness.

    The Pursuit Of Peace

The Israeli-Palestinian war is one of many conflicts happening around the world and yet it seems the most intractable. Why? Is it because, as many commentators have discussed, both sides seem to have become paralysed in their ability to reach a settlement?  Or is there something else, less to do with ancient hatreds and more to do with our human tendency to project onto others what we don’t like in ourselves?

Many of us feel increasingly cynical about wars fought on another’s turf in the name of democracy and the protection of our way of life.  The Jungian term ‘projection’ means that we are unconsciously and automatically transferring content from our own unconscious to another person or object. This is also known as our shadow.

When one country declares war on another it is no different from one person throwing an insult at another in a domestic argument.  Often, in a dispute, we say things about the other person that are actually the things we dislike about ourselves.
