Mars Goes Direct & the Autumn Equinox
March 11, 2010 by Caroline · Leave a Comment
Today (Oz time) 12 March 2010, Mars finally pulls himself out of his disoriented, groggy state – after attempting a backwards run for the last 3 months. I reckon we may need some blessings, as he awakens from his stupor!
Who is Mars?
For those of you less familiar with the characters of the planetary beings – Mars is full steam ahead energy. He’s also the God of War. He gives us our vitality, the energy to do things. He influences the way we assert ourselves, how we direct our energy. He also inspires motivation – he loves to move, as fast as possible.
Physically Mars rules over our strength – our muscles, blood, adrenal glands and head (Aries). As well as our libido. Mars has a strong relationship with our ‘fight-or-flight’ mechanism. He also, like Neptune, influences the way we create our boundaries. Mars asserts his boundaries (hence the God of War), Neptune often dissolves them.
When our Martian energy is weakened we have difficulties creating our boundaries and expressing our will – this ‘internalises’ his energy – often then creating frustration, anger or depression (internalised anger) – playing havoc with our liver. Or we can suffer from fear and anxiety – stressing our adrenals.
Either way, as you can see – trying to suppress Mars takes its toll on you and your body.
End of Astrological Year – Pisces 2010

Sun in Pisces
In the last month of the Astrological Year we find ourselves in the nebulous and watery realm of Pisces. So if there are any big projects that need a burst of energy to get them moving – then maybe best to wait until the Equinox – March 22nd, which is the beginning of the Astrological New Year.
The energy of Aries will then be with you, you’ll be feeling a lot more energetic and roaring to go!
Pisces is ‘dreaming’ month – time out month – quiet times of retreat and remembrance. Trying to move quickly during this time could be a lot like struggling thru waist high mud – great for the thighs, but not much good for getting anywhere fast.
Awaken Your Uniqueness

Did you see the big Full Moon in the sky on Saturday night (30 Jan 2010)? Simply glamorous in true Leo style. It was a ‘perigree’ Full Moon – meaning it’s at its closest proximity to the Earth – why it’s so big and beautiful – and powerful too!
This is the biggest Full Moon of the year and with a potent beginning month to our wonderful 2010 – this augers a powerfully active, creative year. The time for sitting on the fence or in the deep comfy couch has come to an end.
A year of beginnings, of action, assertion and leadership. A time to take firm hold of the reins of our lives and with steady and intent purpose steer it to our heart’s desire.
Mars Goes Retro & The Sun Stands Still

Summer Solstice 2009
Another year is ending – a new one soon beginning. One of the last, if not the last, big celestial happening for the 2009 year is the Solstice on December 22. For us here in the Southern Hemisphere – we celebrate the Summer Solstice – for our friends in the North – it’s the Winter Solstice.
The Solstice -when the great Sun in our sky slows, stops and changes direction – is a significant time – when the sun appears to stand still before turning to retrace its path in the sky.

Well, the activity continues – no hiding from these massive times of change that rage rapidly about us.
Beginning with the New Moon in Virgo
September’s Virgo’s New Moon on the 19th continued the concentration and focus which has been with us all year. Our dear unrelenting strict father Saturn sat together with the Sun and Moon – at the exact same degree (that’s close!!).
Pallas Athene sits with Saturn, the Sun and the Moon to give counsel – how fortunate we are. As with the last New Moon the Goddess energy is powerfully evident at this time. At last, the age of the patriarchy is coming to an end – time for the Divine Feminine to spread her wings.
Accordng to astrologer Demetra George, ‘Pallas Athene also embodies the magickal will that enables us to create and control our own reality. Rather than depending upon ceremony and ritual, Pallas spontaneously manifests whatever is needed through the mode of creative visualization.’
Our Collective Destiny has Shifted Focus – North & South Nodes

Nodes have a general vibe of ‘the lazy way’ (south node) and ‘the way with more work’ (north node). The placement of the Nodes in the Natal Chart (birth chart) indicates the areas in which you’ll likely experience these polarities.
The ‘lazy’ way
The South Node’s position shows the way of ‘least resistance’, as if it’s really familiar, a well-worn path, walked many life’s before. It can often be a place of unconscious response, as it is so automatic, it is done without thought – those ways of going about things, those reactions, done in a split second.
The ‘way of more work’
the North Node’s position is most likely so unconscious that it doesn’t appear to even exist, as far as you can see. The ’seeds’ of it are there; they need cultivation, nurturing and awareness. This ‘placement’ isn’t as easy as the ‘other’ – it’s like you have to work at it – yet strangely you find yourself again and again in ‘places’ which need it’s talents and approach. It’s as if life is moving you into areas that need these skills – you’re being asked to develop them. They’re there – just a little deeply buried – who wants work when there’s an easy way to do it – so we fall into our South Node again and again.
It’s not like the South Nodes the baddie – no – his skills are very useful, you’ve spent lifetimes learning them. But there’s more learning to do now – you need to expand your repertoire of responses – walk along different paths, create new moments.

THIS GODDESS-POWERED NEW MOON

Well girls this is Goddess time!
When I first took a peak at the New Moon chart I muttered, ” goodness gracious!” And then I thought, “boy, that looks significant indeed” So I took a closer look.
As you may or may not know, New Moon time is when the Sun and Moon sit together – it’s the beginning stage of the Moon’s cycle. To us here on Earth the sky is dark and Moonless – or so it seems. It’s a great time for starting anything new – great for planting (when the Moon’s in a fertile sign) and a super great time – especially over the 3 day period of the New Moon (day before and after) – to set your intentions for the next month! It’s a very fertile time, rich with new beginnings and fresh energy. Don’t waste it.
MARS AND SATURN – THE ULTIMATUM!
August 8, 2009 by Caroline · Leave a Comment
Saturn and Mars are ‘challenging’ each other in the sky.
In Astro jargon they are ’squaring’ each other – at a 90-degree aspect to each other. This is a challenging aspect and is hard to ignore – it’s sort of ‘in your face’ type vibe.
As you may or may not know, Mars has to do with action – action, action, action – and he likes his own way, he can be a wee bit forceful in his enthusiastic push ahead. He likes action and adventure – NOW. He doesn’t have a lot of patience for standing around. He’s got stuff to do and he’s doing it.

THE 3RD ECLIPSE OF THE SEASON
Well folks we certainly live in concentrated times!
Our influential and insistent neighbours – the massive planetary bodies above us, are coming together to put on the play of all plays. Drama at its best!
Presently all of the outer planets are Retrograde – from our perspective here on earth, they appear to be moving in reverse. Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto and Chiron are all performing a nifty back step rumba – creating new sounds, new vibrations and a completely new dance.
