A Native American prophecy states that when the planet of Healing is discovered in the sky, the ancient sacred warrior teachings will return to the Earth. This planet is Chiron.
Discovered in 1977, Chiron is re-awakening teachings that have their origins in antiquity. These origins pre-date recorded Western history and subsequently show up in the mythologies, philosophies, religions, arts and customs of virtually every culture, worldwide.
A new way of thinking and living has been emerging since the discovery of Chiron. In essence, it shows us that healing is intrinsic to our individual and collective evolution of consciousness.
As many of us have found, if we get stuck in a way of thinking that is no longer relevant to our age or situation, our emotions and bodies become diseased in some way. Disease is an indication that some part of ourselves is not in harmony with ways of thinking and living that are now relevant to us.
For instance, if you feel angry and frustrated, your dis-ease is in your mental and emotional self. If suppressed this lack of harmony will affect your physical body, causing physical disease.
Astrologers believe that the place where Chiron is found in your astrology chart indicates
where the root cause of our disease, dysfunction, disorder or imbalance can be found. It is referred to as the Wound.
This wound can be a result of any act, person or circumstance that left us with a sense of being hurt in some way. This wound lies buried deep within our psyche, waiting for us to become aware and start the healing process.
If we are able to put two and two together and can see the connection between life’s circumstances and our feelings of hurt, then we’re ready to begin the healing journey.
And like magic, people, experiences, circumstances and events that we need to help us heal our wound come into our lives daily, offering us the opportunity to see our wound first hand. It’s really up to us whether we’re ready to see them for what they are, and how we respond to them.
Being able to see our wound is part of the new way of thinking and living, and Chiron is our mentor and guide in showing us how to understand and then heal ourselves.
Chiron is an asteroid found orbiting between the planets Saturn and Uranus. Saturn represents the lessons we must learn to develop and grow, often through a sense of limitation, while Uranus represents our unique individuality and our drive to improve things for ourselves and others.
According to the ancient myth, Chiron was a teacher and mentor to many of the great heroes of the Golden Age – Jason, Hercules and Asclepius. He taught many skills including the healing arts.
In astrology, Chiron symbolizes a healing bridge between Saturn and Uranus. These two planets represent the split between two parts of our self – on the one hand the part responding to Saturn that knows we must conform and find our place in society, and on the other hand, the part that responds to Uranus, that wants to break free and express its originality in often unusual and surprising ways.
Both of these are valid and essential parts of our self, and that is why they must be bridged and healed. Our wound is symbolised by the friction caused by these two parts of our self constantly pulling us apart and challenging us to change.
How can we learn to utilise the ways and means available to us now in terms of present social norms and culture (Saturn) to house the original, unusual and new ways of the future (Uranus)?
Chiron, by house and sign, shows us how the friction between Saturn and Uranus manifests itself in our psyche and life. By working out how to bridge between these two forces, we have a better chance of more creatively and uniquely participating in society.
The placement of Chiron in our astrology chart, by house and sign, together with the aspect it makes to personal planets, gives us clues to the areas in our life where we will find the wound (the house), and the type of energies that will be challenging us (the sign). They also show us how we can successfully and positively express their energies as we heal the wound.
Because we are all interrelated, healing our own wound will also help our family, friends, society and the world. Those of us on the path of creative change will feel compelled to make this journey, knowing it will assist us to live more positive, authentic and fulfilled lives.

Hi
A thought that ‘jumped out’ at me whilst reading the article (very enjoyable thank you!) – was that Saturn and Uranus are presently in a battle of strengths at present and will be for a while yet.
‘My way is best, it’s tried and true’ says Saturn, ‘get with the times Pop’ says Uranus. ‘My way!’ ‘No, my way!’ and on they go!
Saturn and Uranus are sitting opposite each other in our vast system above at present. In Astro talk this is called an ‘opposition’. Yes, as it sounds, it can be challenging. But remember any 2 things that sit opposite each other are actually sitting on the same line – so they share the same general ‘energy’ – they just look at it from different ends of the pole.
So. . . . . . .Chiron sits between Saturn and Uranus in the sky – what must he be feeling with all this tension happening?
How do you reckon he’s responding to all of this?
He’s sitting in Uranus’s sign – Aquarius – at present, so he may have some leanings there – also he’s moving to sit by Neptune – so maybe he’s focusing on our (Aquarius) future (Uranus) healing (Neptune).
He sees the ‘problem’ and is brewing the ’solution’ – the ‘healing’.
love
